Despite recent negative news about crimes committed by Carpentersville residents, there is some very positive news that may have been overlooked.

Serious crime in Carpentersville has dropped.

And, it has dropped significantly.

While the Illinois State Police report drops around the state of 3.6 to 8.3 percent …

Carpentersville’s rate dropped by over 24%!

In addition to the successful partnership with the FBI, local community leaders say the department’s increased visibility on the streets is sending a positive message to residents, while enforcing its no tolerance policy for offenders.

Of course, there will be those who want to downplay those numbers, and write them off in order to put forth their own agenda, but the reality is that Carpentersville is growing in a positive way that deserves recognition.

Its the positive way that Carpentersville has been moving forward, despite some – as readers of this blog are well aware – who want to tear it down and/or hold it back.

Looking at the “Letters” page of the Daily Herald today, readers will find Judy Sigwalt supporting her minionsI wrote last week about how Ritter was linked to Sigwalt, and was the stooge of Sigwalt and Co.  Today’s letter to the editor confirms this.

Sigwalt needs people in Village government who will look the other way at her corrupt activities — and that of her minions.

I will be supporting Ed Ritter for village president … [and] … incumbent Trustee Kay Teeter, Carpentersville Improvement Committee Chair Pat Schultz, as well as Brad McFadden.

For residents who want to rid Carpentersville Village government of the kind of corruption and problems that have been around for “the past 10 years” that Sigwalt has been in office, she at least has be kind enough to give you a list of who to vote against.

She says: Personal attacks by elected officials aimed at their fellows has been a shameful display from our boardroom far too often.

And yet, she regularly attacks Board members and residents (myself included) who object to her involvement in the corruption and coverups for improper and illegal behavior.

Send a message to Judy Sigwalt on April 7 … vote against Ritter, Teeter, Schultz and McFadden.

The following is a press release from Robert Lee, candidate fo District 300 school board:

EAST DUNDEE – Robert Lee, candidate for District 300 school board, highlighted his efforts to incorporate new web based technologies into his campaign.  He released a YouTube video in the hopes of communicating to more voters directly before the April 7, 2009 election, and plans to release more in the coming weeks.

“Before the holiday, the Policy Committee discussed the use of technology in the classroom.  It made me realize how little I know about it,” Lee said.  “I decided to incorporate that technology into my campaign to both communicate with the community better and educate myself about its potential.”

Lee continued that the Policy Committee’s discussion included a detailed presentation by the technology staff of the district, which helped to spur his interest into different technologies available.  Additionally, Monday night’s board meeting saw a presentation directly from students on the power of web based technologies in the classroom.

“Incorporating these simple and widely available technologies opens up tremendous opportunity for the school district.  We could literally broadcast public meetings to the entire community to view at their leisure, and the utility in the classroom is obviously invaluable. Most importantly, these technologies are of minimal cost, helping the district to do more with less money.”

In the coming weeks, Lee plans to release more videos about why he’s running for District 300 and the issues important to his campaign.  He encourages people to use the same tools to communicate with him about
the issues, as well.  Lee hopes to incorporate all his videos on his website soon.  In the meantime, he said community members can visit http://www.youtube.com/leeforillinois.

Trustee Ritter, what the hell are you thinking?

You think you can do a better job as Village President?!  What have you done these past 4 years except sit up in front of the audience and offer the occasional criticism about how long the Board meetings run?

Oh, I know…  You supported a convicted wife beater, and instead criticized those who were calling for his removal from the Board.

Upon Paul Humpfer’s conviction, Ritter had this to say:

“I have to question Bill Sarto’s motive,” … “It seems he is trying to maneuver to get Humpfer off the board so he can put someone in more to his liking.”

Yeah that’s probably true.  Someone who doesn’t beat their wife!  Someone who doesn’t misuse Village resources, and deceive Village staff about the use of those resources.  Someone who would not hide the details of their involvement with Village finances.

Ritter, along with Trustees Kay Teeter and Judy Sigwalt, said they think Humpfer should remain on the board.

What kind of judgement is this?  Piss poor, I’d say.  And this guy thinks he has the qualities to lead?

Ritter is just another in the fold of Sigwalt and Co.  In fact, Ritter, Humpfer, Sigwalt and Teeter have all been seen out to dinner together after Village Board meetings.  They are all good friends … and don’t like the fact that Sarto has called them all out for their questionable (and sometimes illegal) actions.

According to the Daily Herald, Judy Sigwalt was considering a run herself, but apparently her own inappropriate behavior while in office caused her to reconsider.  So, instead they put up Ritter to be their stooge.

Last time it was Paul Humpfer.  When he lost, they reappointed him to the Board.

Now they’ve put up Ritter.  If he happens to win, he’ll be a puppet of Sigwalt and Co.

And, the Board will go back to doing nothing for the People of Carpentersville … like was happening before Sarto was elected.
