Good morning, Carpentersville!
What a good morning it is, too! With high temperatures expected in the low 70s — in early November! — and the election for “change” now sucessfully completed …
Democrat Barack Obama won Kane County (52% to 46%) for President of the Unted States. Republican John McCain did manage to eek out more votes in one or two precincts in Carpentersville.
Dick Durbin won re-election, receiving nearly 54% of Kane County votes (58% overall).
Bill Foster won re-election, receiving more than 54% (59% overall) of the vote in Kane County. Jim Oberweis was again defeated, getting less than 42% (41%) of the vote.
Democrat Keith Farnham defeated incumbent Republican State Representative Ruth Munson by a 2-percent margin in Kane County (46-44) in the 43rd District, while Tim Schmitz won in the 49th by a large margin – 53 to 40 – over Rachel Shattuck.
For County Board, Hollie Kissane won handily over Carpentersville Trustee Kay Teeter. Kissane received 62% of the vote to Teeter’s 27%.
The decision was overwhelmingly no (62%) on the matter of an Illinois Constitutional Convention.
John Noverini won the race for Circuit Court Judge over Patricia Piper Golden – 48 to 43.
That is most of the races that mattered …
Overall, a happy result.
Enjoy your day.
